Mark has lived in Eastry for over 30-years, you may be familiar with Mark’s Tree Surgery family business which he runs with his wife Jo and 3 staff,
but you may not have known that Mark has been a fire-fighter with Kent Fire & Rescue Service for 27 years and is currently a Station Manager.
He started his career serving for 3 years as an on call fire-fighter here at the local fire station serving the community,
he is passionate about, before transferring into a whole-time role where he now serves.
Mark has been on the EPC Council for 8 years , Chairman for the past 2 years and he also serves on the Finance and Planning Committees.
Mark is passionate about Eastry, he wants to make it a thriving place to not only to live, but a better
place for local business and services too: “With far more flexible working patterns these days, I’d
love to see more local businesses flourish in Eastry, it’s been heartening to see so many local
businesses get involved in the local cost of living initiatives and supporting the village.
I believe creating a sense of community, supporting local services, shops and village activities will make
Eastry and the area, a fantastic place to live, work, relax, raise families and enjoy what great things
Eastry has to offer. With a thriving village community and interest, Eastry can continue to flourish
and grow. I and my fellow councillors, with your support, will try and achieve that for the benefit of
us all.
