Eastry Spring Clean

Well, what a great turn-out we had on Saturday 3rd July for the first Eastry Spring Clean, with around 30 villagers coming together to pick up litter.

The litter pick was organised by Eastry Parish Council with equipment from Dover District Council.

Despite the inclement weather, our hardy teams managed to cover most of the village and collected around 10 large bags of rubbish, which will make a significant difference to the village.

We also had a great time, met old and made new friends of all ages, as we had a diverse mix of young and old, with one family bringing 3 generations to help!

We finished off with a lovely bacon buttie and cuppa at The Five Bells (thanks Mary and team) and a good chat, knowing we had done something worthwhile.

Thanks to everyone who came, a good mornings work. Hope to see you again next time!
