EASTRY AND WOODNESBOROUGH BENEFICE

The Benefice of Eastry and Woodnesborough is looking for someone with strong administrative skills to take on the role of Benefice Administrator following the retirement of the current postholder. The Benefice is made up of five Anglican parishes, Eastry, Northbourne, Staple, Tilmanstone and Woodnesborough.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys administrative work and is able to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision.  Working closely with the Rector, you will be responsible for ensuring that services and activities across the Benefice are run efficiently and that administrative systems and processes support the work of the Benefice effectively.  You will be encouraged to develop new ways to raise the profile of the benefice and its activities through the use of social media, websites and more traditional media. You will need to be flexible, able to deal with people from all walks of life, and well organised with a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills both written and oral.  No week is the same in the benefice office so an ability to respond quickly and effectively to the unexpected is desirable.

The role is based in the Benefice Office, in Eastry Church Hall, on Church Street Eastry.  The post holder will be expected to undertake 9 hours of work a week which will be paid at £12.21 per hour on a self-employed basis. Precise working hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate, and there is flexibility to make the role’s hours work around other commitments. An enhanced DBS check is required for this position and the post-holder will be required to undertake any necessary training.

The Parochial Church Councils that form the Benefice of Eastry and Woodnesborough welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, irrespective of gender, disability, ethnic or social origin, religion, belief, or sexual orientation. Notwithstanding this, there is a requirement that applicants are in sympathy with the Christian faith and the mission of the Church of England.
