Her Majesty the Queen – Public Mourning in Eastry

The flag at Eastry will go up on 9th September, it will return to full mast at 11am 10th September till 1pm on Sunday 12th September, then back to half mast.
The church will remain open each day and candles are available to light. There will be an area near the porch set aside for any flowers to be left. Flowers must be removed the day after the funeral, which will probably be September 19th. The book of condolence will be available from Saturday 10th September, it has to be on special paper (velum) and will be delivered to the vicarage on September 10th so time is uncertain.
The single bell will toll for an hour from noon on 10th September. On Saturday 10th September there is a churches cycle ride which is still planned to go ahead but there will be some activity around all Kent churches.
Sunday 11th September there will be a special 10 am communion service to which all are invited.
Next Saturday 17th there will be service of commemoration at 6pm to which all are invited of course.
All this is done in conjunction with the Rector Andrew and official guidance from the Church of England.
