Unfortunately KCC Highways have extended the Sandwich Road closure until Nov 2nd, over the course of the week the Parish Council have been communicating with SGN, KCC & District Councillor Steve Manion to express their concerns over the amount of time that the road has been closed with no work taking place.

EXTENDED TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14 (2)
Kent County Council gives notice that Sandwich Road, Eastry has been closed to
through traffic, on or after 18th October 2023 for up to 14 days.
The road has been closed at outside Gordon Cottage, Sandwich Road, Eastry.
The alternative route is via Sandwich Road, Woodnesborough Road and Statenborough
Lane.
This closure is necessary to enable emergency gas escape works to be carried out by
SGN.
This Notice applies when the relevant signs and barriers are on site and is valid for a
period of no more than 21 days.
